Dry Bean Crop Insurance Outline




Insurable Crop and Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be dry edible beans of a type listed in the county actuarial table.
  • Acreage must be irrigated.

Insured Causes of Loss:

  • Yield is based on the actual production history (APH) average yields

Coverage Levels:

50%     55%     60%     65%     70%     75%

Price Elections-Per pound-by type of bean:

Final Plant Dates:

  • Final Planting dates vary by county and by type of bean
  • Final planting dates are May 31, June 15, June 30, or July 10.

Acreage Reporting Date:  July 15 Deadline

Replant Payment:   Must Requesting Before Disking

Insurance Period:

  • Insurance attaches when the beans are planted.
  • Insurance ceases on the earlier of either combining, removal from the field, or November 15.

IMPORTANT:  The last day to sign up for Dry Bean Insurance is February 28
