Insurable Crop and Eligibility Requirements:

• Fresh market sweet cherries that are irrigated.
  
• Insured acreage must have produced  at least 2,300 lbs. per acre in one of the three previous crop years.
• Contra Costa, Fresno, Kern, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, San Benito, Santa Clara and Tulare counties only.
  

Insured Causes of Loss:

• Unavoidable loss of production or damage resulting from any adverse weather conditions such as frost, hail, wind, excessive heat, or rain.
  
• Wildlife, birds, earthquake and fire
  
• Failure of the irrigation water supply source
• Low market price
  

Coverage Plan - Dollar Amount of Insurance:

• Guarantee per unit is revenue not production.
  

Claim for Indemnity:  Cherry Dollar Plan 

• Revenue guarantee is based on the average of the total past actual revenue history (ARH) received multiplied by the Expected Revenue Factor. (2009 the ERF is 1.00)
  
• The "net revenue" used is the actual sold value at the first point of sale shown on the house's packing settlement sheet.
  
• Packing house charges are subtracted from the value of the cherries to determine the "net revenue to count" on the ARH form.

Insurance Period:

• Insurance ceases the earlier of when harvest is complete or July 31
• Insurance is continuous for renewal policies
