Insurable Crop and Eligibility Requirements:

• Irrigated lint cotton grown on insurable acreage or Extra Long Staple (ELS) cotton is insurable in the counties with an ELS FCI-35 actuarial.
  
• For skip-row cotton only the acreage occupied by rows of cotton.
  

Uninsurable Acreage:

• Acreage which has not been planted to a crop in one of the past three years.
  
• Acreage which is destroyed and not re-seeded if it was practical to

Insured Causes of Loss:

Unavoidable loss of production, damage, or poor quality cotton resulting from:

• Any adverse weather conditions: such as rain, wind, hail, frost, excessive heat, or cool temperatures.
  
• Insects or plant disease if adequate control measures are applied.
  
• Wild life, earthquake, fire or volcanic eruption.
  
• Failure of irrigation water supply source occurring after planting.
  

Yield - Production Guarantee:

• Yield guarantee is based on the actual production history (APH) average yield for the grower.
  

Coverage Levels:

Final Planting Date: For Full Coverage

Cotton must be initially seeded by May 15* to be insurable for the full guarantee.
(*except Imperial county by April 30)

Late Planting and Prevented Planting:

• Late planting does not apply to ELS Cotton
  
• Acreage prevented from being planted due to insurable causes occurring between the sales closing date and final plant date will be insured at 50% of the full guarantee.
  

Insurance Period:

Insurance attaches at seeding and ceases the earliest of either removal of cotton from the field or January 31.
